Late 19th Century Burmese black lacquer special ceremonial offering vessel. Detailed spire form the top of the lid, stepped curved ring molded bowl above round base. Multiple layers of red and black lacquer adorn this pagoda shaped ceremonial vessel. Used for centuries to carry gifts of food as offerings to the Buddhist monasteries. Burma, late 19th century.
