This is the original order of St. Sava V class (Yugoslavia -Serbia Kingdom, 1921-1941) with the original triangular ribbon! Made in silver gilt with blue, white and red enamels, image of the Saint in Green Robes on the central white enamelled oval disk, dated “1883”. Comes with the original box! The Order of St. Sava was a decoration of merits, awarded by the Kingdom of Serbia, the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes and the Kingdom of Yugoslavia from 1883 to 1945. There is a same named Order of merits, awarded by the Serbian Orthodox Church since 1985. In its hardshelled case of issue, inscribed “CB. CABA V.” on the lid, maker marked “HUGUENIN FRERES & Co Medailleurs LE LOCLE (Suisse)” on the inside lid, recessed medal bed, case in good age worn condition. Orden is also in a good condition, consistent with age, it has not been cleaned. Enamel is very well preserved and without damages, metal displays natural patina.
